Wolverine of the X Men, whose real name is James Howlett, once belonged to an affluent family. If he was a young boy, he never knew he had mutant powers. He was delicate boy with such a inadequate health. His father, in an attempt to make James better, he invited a girl named Rose to live with them and become his playmate. Things went well until their gardener killed his father with a shotgun in front of him. This developed him very, very furious that his mutant powers became apparent if he attacked his father's murderer.

After the death of his father, James Howlett was shunned in his own home so he went away and started a new life. He changed his name to Logan and worked in menial jobs. He made amnesia and could not remember much of his childhood. Years later, Professor X recruited him to join his league of powerful men and women who combine their powers for the good of mankind. At this time, he was already known as Wolverine. But unlike most of the other X Men, Wolverine's past remained a mystery. Nobody knew much of it because he, himself, could not remember.

Wolverine's greatest mutant power is his healing abilities. He can heal wounds and damaged areas in his body very rapidly. The only thing that can slow down this uncanny ability is the chemical, carbonadium. He can also shield his mind from being controlled by other super powers, as well as block sore memories from his past.

Wolverine is a very strong mutant. He may have a tendency to go berserk sometimes, causing uproar and he can destroy enemies immediately. Whilst he may have his mood swings and is rebellious in nature, Wolverine is actually a very intelligent person, wide-travelled, and quite honourable. He acts as a father to younger mutants and is always roughly to aid those who require him.
