Dr. Henry McCoy or Beast as he is known in the X-men series is one of the most interesting and one strongest character in the series. I am going to base my review off the television series shown on Saturday morning mornings. I interpret that there is a lot more information on Beast that you could find from the different comic series but for better continuity I will just cover the television show. On the television show Beast is the most understanding and character like Professor X. As a boy Henry discovered that he was upper strong and had the intellect 2x that of his classmates. However, as Henry grew up he began to get his blue hair covering and began to become an outcast among his peers. It was at that time that Beast joined Professor X's School.
In the television series we do not learn a whole lot about Beasts past and we are mainly shown what is happening in the present. Wolverine is one of the only characters that the show really focuses on his past. However, Wolverine is also one of the only ones with a past as different as his. Throughout the X-men comic series we are able to learn more about Beast and his compassionate personality. The first storyline I think of that really demonstrates Beasts personality is whenever the X-men go on a mission Beast is caught and taken to jail. He is wrongfully arrested by a system that dislikes mutants.
During the episode Beast remains in jail and is mistreated and wrongfully accused. In the episode the X-men come to break Beast out of the jail. The X-men fight by the guards and create a hole in which Beats can escape. However, with Beasts personality and sense of responsibility he decides to stay in the prison and wait out for his fair trial. This simple experience truly shows the personality that Beast has during the television series. He is a fair, compassionate person that trusts in the system even whenever all want seems lost. In life we can learn from this simple example. We must be fair and responsible for our actions.
