So have you heard? You are right, when you have heard that there will be a Wolverine movie spin-off from the X-men movie franchise. Of course, Hugh Jackman will continue to play Logan also known as our favourite Wolverine. Many questions have been asked at Yahoo! Answers as to whether there will be a 4th X-men movie? Based on sources, there will not be one at least for now! This will be a big disappointment for X-men fans including myself.
But you never know what will happen correctly? After all, X-men characters never really actually dies (at least most I guess).
When will the Wolverine Movie be out?
At the moment, Hugh Jackman has another commitment to a movie. And so we will not be seeing the Wolverine movie in the cinemas until at least year 2008.
Plot Summary:
As shown in the first 2 X-men movies, they briefly mentioned about Logan's past. It is assumed in this movie that we will learn more about his secret history before the artillery X project. For those who are not familiar with the artillery X program, it is actually a government project conducted through the Canadian government. Captured mutants are mostly used in the experiment to enhance their super abilities and also mutate humans. The artillery X project has produced familiar characters such as Wolverine, Deadpool, Sabretooth and so on.
In the movie, Wolverine seeks revenge for the death of his girlfriend against Sabretooth also known as Victor Creed before he went by the artillery X program. So it is no surprise to see Sabretooth being thrown as one of the main villains in this Wolverine movie. It is also said that William Stryker from the X-men 2 movie will also be throw as the other main villain, when you recall he was the one in charge of the artillery X program.
Other News:
David Benioff has been hired to write the screenplay for the Wolverine movie. For those not familiar with his name, you might recognize his work in Troy where he also wrote the screenplay. He is also a heavy Wolverine fan since he was 9 years old. Brett Ratner who was the director for the X-men 3 movie is negotiating to take up the Wolverine movie, but it has not been decided yet.
