X-Men Origins: Wolverine is an action adventure game that has been loosely based on the film that shares the same name for its title. The game is scheduled to be released on May 1st 2009 to coincide with the release of the film and the game will be released on all major platforms.
The storyline of the game is made up 90% from events that take place in the movie but also has a high focus on the original story that was created by raven software. The primary story is the back-story of Wolverine and as you progress by the game you will uncover his origins and play by different moments in his life. The story starts from his birth in the mid 1880’s and spans all the way up to his military service and recruitment into the artillery X program.
The creators of ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine the video game’ say the game has been influenced by titles such as ‘God of War’ and ‘Devil May Cry’ and throughout game play the player should expect to see a lot of blood and gore.
The creators of this video game have addressed a lot of issues that were present in previous Wolverine games with the most noticeable being the lack of regeneration. In this new game, players will see the character of Wolverine heal in real-time which will allow you to see his muscles and skin grown rearward once they have been damaged. Whenever Wolverine takes enough damage the player will be able to see directly by to his adamantium skeleton.
The combat system in the game relies on the player utilising Wolverine’s adamantium claws to slice and dice his enemies by a combination of attacks. The player can also utilise the scenery and permit Wolverine to impale his enemies on spikes.
