Wheelchair yoga

When practicing wheelchair yoga, you will not feel stiff or lack of energy. In fact, some of the more positive effects of wheelchair yoga include increased muscle and mental strength, decreased levels of anxiety, nervousness, and stress. You will sleep better, feel stronger and experience a surge in confidence and self-esteem levels.

There are of course, specific rules relating to wheelchair competitors. However all other rules of competition are the same with able-bodied target archery. The difference is that wheelchair archers are divided into 2 different classes whereas there are other classifications for standing archers.

Wheelchair archers compete in either W1 for quadriplegic archers that allow them to use a release mechanism, or W2 which is open to all wheelchair archers. In recent years, wheelchair archery is becoming an increasingly popular sport for the wheelchair bound athletes.

Choosing the right wheelchair

With so many types of wheelchairs out there, selecting the right one can be difficult. This is especially so if the person has just met with an accident or undergone surgery and requires them to rest their feet or legs for a couple of months and needs one quickly. The person that requires the wheelchair could also be someone who is old and their hands and legs have lost strength, making them dependent on others to tend to their needs, and to help them get from room to room.

If one is working with a therapist or trainer with building muscles back up after a traumatic accident, one can ask for advice on a wheelchair. If the person's upper body is healthy and strong, they can use a manual one to propel themselves around. If they are feebler however, or had a much larger injury that affects more than just their legs, they will require something that is easier to control and get around with. This is where a power wheelchair comes in handy.

Wheelchair lift

A vehicle wheelchair lift is equipment that enables a person with a handicap to comfortably ride into a vehicle. It also allows you to transport the wheelchair or scooter with the vehicle. The two main types of the vehicle wheelchair lift are those that you can put inside the vehicle and those that just stay outside the vehicle.

The type of wheelchair/ scooter vehicle lift you would want to use would depend on several matters. Things to consider would have to do with the make of your vehicle, the type of mobility equipment that the vehicle lift would carry and the way you want to store the vehicle lift.

CONCLUSION

When it comes to mobility, wheelchairs help the handicapped, elderly, and injured get around. Since there are many different reasons why an individual may need a wheelchair (whether it is to satisfy temporary or permanent needs), an assortment of styles is available on the market.
