Found something on Your Credit Reports That’s Not Yours?
Follow These Simple Steps:
Request for Investigation
Step 1
Provide the following with proof:
Name
Other Name(s)
Address
Telephone Number(s)
Drivers License (make a copy of both sides)
Social Security Number (make a copy of both sides)
Date of Birth (mm/dd/yy)
Employer Information
Step 2
Enter detailed dispute account information. Include any proof you might have.
Company name
Account #:
Reason the information is inaccurate:
~This is not my account
~I have never paid late
~This account is in bankruptcy
~This account is closed
~I have paid this account in full
~I paid this before it went to collection or before it was billed off
Other Reason:

Step 3
Mail your Letter to all 3 Major Bureaus:

Once you submit your dispute:
Credit Bureaus will contact the company that provided the info (lender or public record source) with a request to verify the accuracy of the information.
The company will then advise The Bureaus whether any changes should be made to the information.
Usually within 30 days of the date a request is received, a report reflecting the results of the investigation will be mailed to you

Not happy with the response? Think it’s not fair.
Communicate (and follow thru) you will go to your congressional representative or file a direct lawsuit against the bureau. If done honestly and properly, the removal of most kinds of negative credit items can be a success.
