Google recently launched a collection of software called the Google Pack in 2006. It was treated for the beginner, to give them all the essential tools which they need for their computer. Antivirus protection is also included in this pack.

In order to bring you antivirus protection, Google teamed up with Symantec. You have probably heard of them, as they are the makers of the Norton antivirus protection products. Norton is currently one of the top 10 antivirus protection programs on the market. In 2006, Google pack antivirus was only updated for six months.

In 2007, you will pack was updated further as they negotiated with Symantec, which led to the introduction of Norton Security Scan. The benefits of this program are that you do not have to update it every six months. It is able to scan for threats and viruses on a computer and remove them.

Additional benefits of using the Google Pack, is the fact that it comes with an anti-spyware program also. This program is good spyware Doctor and is based on all the top anti-spyware programs available. You also get a Picasa, which is a photo organiser.

Getting the Google Pack is definitely a good place to start when protecting your computer against any malicious software. You will need to look for more advanced programs if you want protection.
