Introduction to Toothpaste
Tandoori recipes are great as part of a low calorie or low carbohydrate diet. Just marinade some fish (cubed or whole), chicken (cubed or in pieces) or prawns (shrimp) in a mixture of low fat plain yogurt, ground turmeric, ground coriander, ground cumin, crushed garlic, grated root ginger and a little chilli powder (or to taste) for at least an hour. If you’re using cubed meat, thread onto skewers. Grill or barbeque with a medium heat until done.
Learning how to use toothpaste to brush
Tooth brushing is skill. We don't just thrust a toothbrush and toothpaste onto a three-year old, and expect him to be an instant whiz at it. He needs to master the brushing action, spit the foam from his mouth, gargle and rinse, all without swallowing the toothpaste. That's a tall order for a little person, and quite a bit of the toothpaste actually ends up in his tummy!
Materials needed to make Toothpaste
Materials Needed:
bowls
baking soda
salt
water
food flavoring extract
spoons
sandwich bags
Place baking soda, salt, and water in separate bowls. Assist the children in placing 4 teaspoons of baking soda, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of water in individual sandwich bags. Add a drop of food flavoring extract, such as peppermint, mint, or orange. Let the children mix their own toothpaste in the sandwich bags.
Choosing toothpaste
If you tend to build up plaque or tartar quickly, you'll want a plaque or tartar-control toothpaste. Anti-plaque/tartar toothpastes will have ingredients such as fluoride and/or antibacterial agents to limit plaque and tartar formation. (Check with your dentist before choosing fluoride toothpaste for your young children. Excessive fluoride ingestion by pre-school age children can lead to discoloration of the permanent teeth. If your child uses fluoride toothpaste, make sure s/he does not swallow toothpaste while brushing.)
Once you've determined which type of toothpaste is best, choose the one that tastes and feels best and doesn't cause irritation or sensitivity problems. If you like the flavor and texture of your toothpaste, you'll brush more and longer. And brushing well and regularly means you'll be smiling with your natural teeth well into your mature years.
Whitening toothpastes
Contrary to what many people think, whitening toothpastes do not increase the whiteness of the underlying tooth. In reality, the most whitening toothpaste can do is remove some of the surface stains that may have gathered from food, or drinks like coffee, so that the underlying whiteness of the tooth becomes more apparent, making your smile shine.
CONCLUSION
To reduce sensitivity, your dentist can prescribe an ultra high fluoride toothpaste, which usually solves your tooth sensitivity problems by helping to plug open dentinal tubules. In fact, the first thing dentists will do for patients suffering from sensitive teeth is to have them switch to a less abrasive toothpaste.
