Benefits of theatre

The theater provides insights into the human experience through live theatre that invigorates minds and emotions. It also strives to correct social ills and point the way forward for society. It leads the American theater in creating new plays and in innovatively re-imagining fresh dramatic renditions of the classics.

Pitlochry Festival Theatre

Established in 1951 by John Stewart; Pitlochry Festival Theatre was opened in the autumn of 1951. The original theatre “building” was a tent-like construction, and was only meant to be used for a short period; however it remained in use for some 30 years until it was replaced by the current theatre building designed by James Dunbar-Naismith in 1981.

Pitlochry Festival Theatre offers a fantastic cultural experience in beautiful Pitlochry countryside overlooking the River Tummel.
