Having a relationship can be an up and down affair, it is up to you to keep things in perspective at all times. This is done by always being honest with your partner. Sometimes a relationship can get into a situation whereby nobody ever thinks that they are wrong. This is very counter-productive for any relationship.

Saying I, or make your partner feel less criticised, which in turn will make them more empathetic to your situation. In most cases this should result in a more healthy dialogue with your partner.

If the stressing the relationship has reached a certain level, or even if it hasn't. You should be in the habit of practising timeouts. Keep in mind that, for the most part when spiteful things are said it is in the heat of the moment. You should learn to walk away from any argument that may occur, and simply just take a few breaths. This can be anything from 5 to 10 minutes. This is the best course of action when you feel like you are getting angry. You can even decide on a word or phrase that you and your partner can use, which lets them know that you need to take a time out.

These two tips can help you to improve your relationship, it is up to you to put them into practice, only then will you be able to see some type of tangible results.
