Spectacle facts

As many as six out of every ten people need corrective lenses, and as many as three million people in the UK currently use contact lenses as opposed to spectacles in order to improve their vision.

Contact lenses provide a more natural form of vision correction, and many people actually see better with their contact lenses than they do with spectacles. Furthermore, contact lenses are not only more aesthetically pleasing but they also offer many practical advantages for sports and recreational use.

Spectacles or contact lenses

While plenty of people still wear spectacles , there seems little doubt that they’re on the way out. There’s no doubt that putting them in and taking them out can be scary at first, but once you’re used to it they are much more convenient than having bulky spectacles on your face, not to mention almost invisible, even to people who get close to your eyes.

Stop your spectacles falling off

If the spectacles are slipping down on your face, it is likely that the sides of the frame are not symmetrical and one or both need some adjustment. Place the spectacles face down on a white towel or sheet and looking straight down at the lens along the side frames, see if they are directly perpendicular and orthogonal to the front frame. If one or both are not then prepare to adjust.

Having to take off my spectacles to read does pose some problems--especially because middle-age absent-mindedness factors in. I tend to leave them in odd places, and then forget where I put them. The odd places can be just about anywhere, and sometimes my spectacles find themselves in grave peril. CONCLUSION

Wear spectacles is still very common. If you where spectacles and would like to up grade to a different pair, there are a ton of resources available on the internet. The alternative to spectacles seems to be contanct lenses. It does seem like spectacles could be a thing of the past, but I dont this will ever happen! Happy shopping for those spectacles.
