Rubber duck baby showers
If you're planning to host a baby shower and want a fun idea that symbolizes the innocence of early childhood, consider using a rubber duck theme. The rubber duck is timeless and can be very versatile in decorating. Keep reading for our ideas on how to incorporate this cool theme into your next baby shower.
Rubber duck invention
Rubber ducks were first made in the early 1800's at the time when other rubber toys were developed. At that time rubber ducks were made of hard rubber and did not squeak. Rubber ducks evolved into squeaking, floating toys. Rubber ducks are most commonly used at bath time but can also be used as toys for dogs.
The song "Rubber Duckie", sung by Ernie from Sesame Street, helped make rubber ducks massively popular in the USA and other parts of the world.
School rubber duck idea
On the list of school fundraising ideas is the rubber duck derby. In the past few years, this has become a very popular school fundraising idea. Not only is the rubber duck derby fun, but also a great way to involve the community while earning money.
You could work with your local grocery stores to sell rubber ducks for $1, which gives the buyers a chance to win a valuable donated prize. Then on a specified date, the ducks are taken to a local park with a lake. All of the rubber ducks are emptied into the water at once and the first one to cross the finish line wins.
Rubber duck testimony
I certainly wasn’t looking for a shower curtain at that flea market, but there it was – my beautiful retro vinyl shower curtain with giant rubber ducks on it. I certainly never expected to fall in love with such an eccentric shower curtain ----Anne Clarke----
CONCLUSION
If none of the baby shower centerpieces above knock your socks off...close you eyes. What do you see? A giant Rubber Duck, a green plant topped with a stuffed Pooh, or any stand alone items related to your theme?
