Stem Cell Now Curing Pulmonary Hypertension
Due to the research in stem cells, doctors are now able to treat specific diseases that they were unable to treat in the past. Pulmonary hypertension is a disease that was untreatable in the past but is not curable as a result of this research.
Karl Wagner of Macon, Georgia was some time back the first person to receive the therapy stem cell treatment for pulmonary hypertension.
Karl was someone who suffered from this disease for quite some time since being diagnosed with it. He was on prescribed drugs, but despite the administration of the drugs, he was still having very aggressive chest pains, fatigue and heart palpitations. Because he constantly suffered from shortness of breath, he was also on oxygen. As a result, he was unable to interact with his children. He was given no more than 3 years to live by his local doctor.
Fortunately for Karl he met a doctor who was pressure short that stem cells would be able to help him with his condition. Karl tried it as he didn’t have much option left on the table.
In early 2008, a small amount of blood was taken from Karl’s arm. The stems cells that exist in the blood were then separated and then multiplied and cultured. The stem cells were then implanted by into Karl no more than 7 days later.
Within 9 months, Karl has made a successful turn. Before Karl had the treatment, his pulmonary artery pressure was 40mmHg, which was a serve case of pulmonary hypertension, after the treatment, he dropped to normal levels at 24 mmHg.
Karl’s life also changed quite dramatically. Karl is now able to take his children to school in the morning before going to work. He no longer takes any medication and proclaims that he feels significantly better than he did before having the treatment.
