If you are sending an e-mail you should make sure that there are no spelling mistakes or errors within it. Any errors or that mistakes will obviously put some doubt in the employer's mind about your ability to check information correctly.
Check all your information more than once
When you have a job as a proofreader, it is your job to be obsessive about getting information. This means that you will have to read over documents more than once, the recommended amount of time to read a document is three times. Catching errors in documents can sometimes be missed on the first and second read, but usually the third read will ensure that you find all the spelling errors and mistakes.
