About Pele

Edson Arantes do Nascimento better known as Pelé is widely regarded as the greatest footballer of all time. Pelé is renowned for his dribbling and passing technique as well as his exceptional ability to head the ball for a man of average height. He was a prolific goalscorer and liked to attempt the spectacular such as the “bicycle kick”. Pele is the only football player in the history of the game to win three World Cup trophies and his number 10 shirt has become famous in itself.

Peles life briefly

Pelé's first job was shining shoes. But he had always dreamed of playing soccer. Pelé's soccer career started early. After playing in a few amateur teams like Baquinho and Sete Setembro, at the age of 11, while playing for an uncoached team called Ameriquinha, he was discovered by a former Brasilian World Cup player named Waldemar de Brito. De Brito recognized Pelé's skills and invited him to join the team he was organizing Clube Atlético.

Edson Arantes do Nascimento, better known as Pelé, is arguably the finest soccer player ever. He exemplified passion and artistry and till date, remains the poster child of Brazilian soccer. Pelé was a complete player. He had defenders in a trance with his ball control, dribbling and finishing.

He was blessed with silken skills and mesmerized millions with his style. He was the chief architect in Brazil lifting the World Cup in 1958, 1962 and 1970, a record for an individual player. A prolific scorer, he served Santos loyally and notched over 1,000 goals. He retired in 1977 but continues to be the most recognizable face in soccer.

Peles first game

Pelé's first show came on September 7, 1956, when he played in place of the center forward Del Vecchio. He came into the game to score the sixth of the seven goals in the 7-1 Santos victory. He scored his goal on the 36th minute, in a play between Raimundinho and Tite. The ball was given to Pelé in the box, and even though he was surrounded by defenders, he shot on goal and the ball went under goalkeeper Zaluar's body.

CONCLUSION

Pele is one of the greatest players to grace the football field. If you havent heard of him it would be a good idea to look him up. Peles goal scoring record speaks for its self, Pele has managed to score one goal every game which is unheard of at amatuer level football, but he done this at a professional level. A truly amazing player.
