Introduction to Nintendo DS

The Nintendo DS Lite is recognizable as a handheld game console with dual screen. Its predecessor, the Nintendo DS was modified, made lighter, designs were improved and voila, the Lite was born. All these improvements seemed to have worked too because a more and more are appreciating the sleeker, feature-filled design. In fact, Nintendo have sold above twenty eight and a half million units!

The LCD screens of the Nintendo DS Lite are certainly more durable this time and a lot brighter. There are four brightness levels. The stylus is larger than the original DS thus allowing better grip. The top hinge is definitely stronger and more resistant to shock. It is also built with device protection in mind.

This is evident by the filter cartridge that is complimentary to the device allowing for a more seamless surface. Plus, debris, and dust particles are now effectively kept out. Its bottom is protected by black plastic that prevents the accumulation of grease. The Game Boy Advance games are now protruding out by 1 cm due to design modifications but this has not affected the playability of the games at all.

Now Nintendo has another video game system on the market called the Nintendo DS Lite. The Nintendo DS Lite has a number of features that make it so that it stands out from the other devices out there. The most notable feature in terms of its appearance is the inclusion of a second screen that, with the use of an included stylus, functions as a touch screen.

The second major feature that distinguishes the Nintendo DS Lite from the competition is the fact that it provides access to multiplayer video games. While that alone might not be that impressive, it should be noted that these multiplayer games can take place over the entire planet and players can participate from any wireless hot spot.

Extra features of the Nintendo DS

The Nintendo DS Lite also has a lot of features built into it that make it impressive in its own right. For example, it has built in speakers that provide stereo sound. The Nintendo DS Lite also has a built in microphone in addition to the conventional Nintendo controls and the touchscreen for input.

The unit is capable of displaying two hundred and sixty thousand colors and both of the Nintendo DS Lite's screens are Transparent Film Transistor Active Matrix displays for the quickest action possible with LCD technology. The Nintendo DS Lite also has a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery that can power the video game platform of up to nineteen hours which is really impressive by any possible measure.

CONCLUSION

Nintendo DS has broken out of the mold and is being used as something other than the intended purpose of entertainment and gaming. You can't say the same for Xbox 360 or psp 3. This is a brilliant use of technology. This only helps establish Nintendo and move them ahead of their gaming competitors because of this new concept and innovation.
