Model Rockets making
Making model rockets is an inexpensive and fun hobby that has two very different components. You get to make rockets, which is a great hands on craft, and you also get to launch them which makes for a great outdoor event for family and friends. Here is an overview of what it is all about and how to do it.

You don't need a whole lot of materials to start out in this hobby. There are many all-complete kits available that give you everything you need. This includes the parts to make a rocket, the launching pad, and the engines that power the rocket.
Making Model Rockets
it's very easy to make a model rocket from a kit. The largest provider of model rocket kits is Estes. For more information on model rocketry as a hobby, you can look at the National association of rocketry. The Apogee Educator page also has some links with interesting and helpful information about designing and building rockets (and ideas for teachers), although some of the instructions are based on products sold by Apogee, so you may want to consult more than just this source.
Model Rockets history
Model rockets have been around since the 1950's and is now one of the safest hobbies around. After millions of flights, there has yet to be an injury. This is because model rocket engines are pre-made and rigorously tested at the factory. After that, they must be certified by either the National Association of Rocketry or Tripoli Rocketry Association. (Testing is done at M.I.T. for the N.A.R., while T.R.A. has their own testing facilities.) No weighting or mixing of hazardous chemicals is done by the model rocketeer.
CONCLUSION
After all the parts are completely dry, you can start assembling your paper model rocket. Start by gluing the bottom of the rocket to the base. Apply a moderate layer of glue to the base, and secure it to the paper toweling tube. Before the glue dries, adjust the tube so the rocket body is straight when placed upright on a flat surface.
Hold the parts together for a few seconds until the glue bonds to the paper. Next glue the nosecone to the top of the rocket. Place a moderate amount of glue on the rim of the rocket body, and carefully position the nosecone on top. Make sure it is straight, and allow the rocket to dry completely before going on to the next step.
