Introduction to Mirrors
Let’s admit it; everyone spends a considerable amount of time in front of a mirror. We primp and preen in front of a mirror trying to fix ourselves in as many ways as we can. A mirror is an important tool in providing ourselves proper grooming. The mirror needs to be properly lighted so that spending time in front of it will be an everyday pleasing routine.
Choosing a bathroom mirror
When it comes to bathroom mirrors and bathroom decors, the shapes and size do matter. According to experts, the size and shape of the bathroom mirror can affect the overall look of your bathroom. For instance, an oval mirror when used as part of your bathroom décor will make your bathroom look more feminine. Oval mirrors also give the room a softer tone. On the other hand, a square mirror give can give your bathroom a more solid look and rectangular mirrors can make your bathroom look more spacious.
Mirror tinted contact lenses
Mirror tinted contact lenses are the fastest growing types of lens offered for sale on the market. Mirror tinted contact lenses are manufactured with dye incorporated into the material making up the lens. The incorporation of dye sets the lens off with the same hue and tint of the color used on the material.
Some mirror tinted contact lenses simply change the color of the eye, while others create an entirely different nature. There are three different types of tinted contact lenses, visibility tinted contacts, color enhancement lenses, and opaque contact lenses. Mirror tints can be classified in the visibility tinted and opaque categories.
Tips for using a mirror
A mirror placed in a room can create an illusion of having more space then there actually is. It is a good trick to create a sense of space that is as old as the mirror itself. Interior decorators use mirrors to good effect when creating space for small rooms.
Mirrors come in many shapes and sizes. While most mirrors are made of glass with a silver layer to create the reflection, tin mirrors are made from, well, tin. Tin is highly reflective when polished and becomes even more so when combined with silver to form an alloy.
Hanging a tin Mirror
Hanging a tin mirror is the same hanging any other mirror. Make sure your anchor point on the wall is properly secured before hanging your mirror. Being made of metal, the tin mirror might not break into a thousand pieces if it falls, but the fall can leave permanent dents on the tin mirror that would be hard to fix.
CONCLUSION
Always be sure to analyze the placement of mirrors before hanging them up. For example, placing a mirror above a fireplace mantel may reflect the unattractive tops of furniture or blank wall space. You can angle the mirror down so that it reflects something more attractive in the room.
In addition, place mirrors so they will not cause unnecessary glare in a room. Mirrors can be unappealing if they are placed across from a window with a southern or western exposure.
