The number of cyber and white collar crimes has slowly risen over the past few years because of the technological advancements which have made committing these crimes easier. This has resulted in an increased demand for forensic accountants. So you may be asking yourself, exactly what you can do with a master’s degree in this area of accounting. Well, some of these duties are highlighted below.
A forensic accountant is to apply the principles of accounting during the investigation of white collar crimes such as fraud, money laundering, embezzlement and bribery. They may also work with attorneys and law enforcement officials and may also be required to testify in a court.
A forensic accountant may also work for a business performing many different daily activities. That could work with a business in order to investigate embezzlement, business valuable or employee theft.
