There many people that are suffering from depression. It is either a mild case or a more heightened case, either way it is depression. There are people that have the condition that may not know that it is depression. There are some tell tell signs, that can give you an idea whether or not you have depression. Some the question you can ask your self are -

Have you been experiencing a loss of appetite, or have you been eating more that you are usually accustomed to eat.

Your should also look at your level of interest, so have you been losing interest and pleasure in the things that you like before.

If you do feel like you have depression there are some things that you can try which are able to lessen the effects of it.

The first thing for you to look at is your diet. Usually when a person is suffering from depression there is a tendency to prefer sugar foods. These are usually bought from fast food resturants. The reason for eating these foods is that they often give an immediate burst of energy, that can make you feel good. The down side is after the boost comes a drop in energy. Eat more natural foods will ensure that you get a balanced portion of energy throughout the day.

Because depression effects the thoughts aswell as the behaviour and emotions, it is a good idea to think positively to counter the negativity. Staying postive and having healthy thoughts will definitely relieve some of the effects of depression.
