Latest Computer Virus Threats

Webroot in 2004 released a report which showed the top ten adware and spyware threats. You may not know about most of them.

It has also been suggested that 9 out of every 10 computers has one of these types of adware on them.

Purtyscan

This claims to delete porn images, so uses this as a trick to get people to install it.

n-CASE

This adware usually advertises a load of freeware on your computer through the use of pop-ups.

Gator

This will display relevant ads on your computer using banners based on your activities online. It may also come with a file sharing software called Kazaa, and other free stuff.

CoolwebSearch

This will effect internet explorer settings and hijack your homepage.

Transponder

This can record data that you enter into forms online and deliver targeted ads.

To avoid any adware in the future you should limit the freware that you download. It is also a good idea to have the proper removal programs on your computer. Some experts say it is good to have at least two anti spyware programs on your computer. Adaware or search bot search destroy are two good programs.

So if you install the right antivirus program you can protect yourself against any problems of spyware.
