Lamps Comparing

Compared with the ordinary lamps the fluorescent lamps got 10 times longer life time. But the cost is higher than the ordinary lamps. But if you use the fluorescent lamps you can feel your savings in electricity bill. The other major importance of using these lamps are we can reduce the pollution by electricity generating plants.

Chinese lamps

Chinese lamps don't have to be paper lanterns, and many different styles of lamps are simply Chinese-inspired. A large, porcelain based lamp can fill up an otherwise empty table and are beautiful on a China hutch or mantle if you have the room. Many are embellished with designs of Chinese writing and pictures, while others are solid colors common in traditional and ancient Chinese culture, like jade and red. The lamp shades on these types of lamps are generally white or cream in color, not to take away from the intricate detail and vibrant colors influenced by the Chinese culture.

Lava Lamp story

During my growing up period I saw these lava lamps with many friends of mine. I remember thinking it to be the coolest thing in fashions then, that I had ever seen. My elder sister, in her apartment used to have lava lamps too.

My memory serves me for the moments when I asked for lava lamps for my birthday and even for Christmas but unfortunately no one got me any. Mom gave me a reason that we did not have extra plug in for lava lamps. She also believed that they were ugly that is why I couldn't even had one in a different corner of the house. Well, that was her opinion. As far as I am concerned I absolutely loved them as a kid and can't be more happy to have them back now that I am a grown up and can afford one on my own.
