Kabbalah introduction

Kabbalah is a wisdom about the universe. However, it studies much more than the part of the universe that we perceive through our inborn five senses. Kabbalah explains that the universe is, in fact, much wider than what we perceive through our five senses. It teaches about that part of the universe that we currently don't perceive.

kabbalah

Kabbalah explains how the universe began, how it develops, and how it will end. It studies the universe's general structure and all of its particular details. This wisdom consists of several sections, all of which talk about the general law of the universe and how we can attain it.

Kabbalah Tree of Life

The Kabbalah Tree of Life portrays the Divine Manifestation Process, how God manifests existence into form. Each of the 10 Divine Emanations of the Tree conveys a particular type of power that moves the manifestation process forward. The tenth emanation, represented at the base of the Tree, represents the fruit or final stage of the manifestation process, what appears as physical form. The top of the Tree, occupied by the first emanation, called Crown, represents the power of Divine Will that begins the manifestation process.

Brief explanation of Kabbalah

Kabbalah is an important and vital aspect of Jewish mysticism, which consists of extensive theories on creation, divinity, the origin and fate of the soul, and the role of human beings. The root meaning of the word "Kabbalah" is "to receive" or "to accept" and is often used as a synonym of "tradition."

Kabbalah is viewed as an esoteric derivative of Judaism as it includes various meditative, devotional, mystical, and magical practices. These practices and the related rituals were not accessible for everyone to study and practice, but only to the chosen ones. However, there are certain facets of Kabbalah that have been practiced by people of non-Jewish origin as well since the last several hundred years.

CONCLUSION

The practice of Kabbalah has been going through something of a renaiscance in recent years, and with celebrities such as Madonna talking publicly about its benefits many people have become interested in the subject. At the same time as gaining in popularity modern Kabbalah has also evolved and metamorphosised from its ancient origins so that what I call 'modern Kabbalah' is something quite different from the traditional subject. In this article I will try to give a general outline of, and introduction to, the study and practice of modern Kabbalah.
