Just Jigsaw Puzzles

There are a number of ways to past time if you are on a long journey. You can take what seems to be the obvious option, which is to play a computer game, or you can read a book, but better still you can play a jigsaw puzzle. They are cheap and will help exercise you mind without the glaring screen of a handheld game and with out the need to squint to see the letters in a book. All you have to do with a Jigsaw is assemble the pieces. When the puzzle is finished you will get to see the full picture of what you were putting to gether which can be quite fulfilling.

The jigsaw puzzle gets its name from the jigsaw. In the past they were mad from wood and cut into pieces with a jigsaw. Later developments have see the mass production of puzzles using card board. In the 1930's only the big companies had the tools to manufacture puzzles in bulk, but since then other methods have been invented to get jigsaw puzzles produced for much cheaper. There are now even some companies that will turn personal photographs into puzzles. Once you hgave completed a puzzle you can attach sticky paper to the back of it the frame it, so you can gloat at your success.

There are different puzzle sizes for those that want more of a challenge. The 3 main sizes are 300, 500, 750 and 1000 pieces, but it has been recorded that the bigest puzzle ever mad was 24,000 pieces. Some puzzles come with double sided pieces so that picture can be seen on both sides when they are completed. The trouble with doubled sided puzzles, is that sometimes there is confusion with pieces when puting them together sometimes.
