Inspiring jazz sounds

Inspire yourself during your improvisation by recording yourself (you might also consider hooking up jazz guitar amps). When you listen to the recording, you'll be able to hear even better the areas that need work. At the same time, you'll also hear the areas that work very well and demonstrate the progress you've made as a jazz guitar player.

Marcus Miller jazz player

Marcus Miller, very talented Jazz artist has released him latest album titled Sun Dont Lie CD and Wow! It’s really a good one. Marcus Miller has been a heavy hitter in the Jazz genre for quite some time now and Sun Dont Lie CD is an excellent illustration as to why.

Jazz music fans will recognize some of the well known guests that have been assembled to play along with Miller on several of the tracks. Artists like Paul Jackson Jr. and Joe Sample just to name a couple.

Learning Jazz scales

When learning to play jazz guitar, you'll have to master learning the scales. Most players are led to believe that all they need to do is learn how to finger the scale and that's where their learning ends. When it comes time to play solos and improvs, they get frustrated because they find it hard to just play. The real problem is not that playing an improvisation is hard or beyond their skill. The real problem is that they haven't learned to master the scales as they thought they had.

Jazz Guitars

Serious jazz players are quite particular about the jazz guitar strings they choose and use. They expect the exact sound they want. There are different kinds of jazz guitar strings available with reputed manufacturers like Thomastik-Infeld, D’Addario, Elixir, etc. Finally it all boils down to choosing the jazz guitar strings that sound just right for the user.

CONCLUSION

To get your jazz guitar strings to last longer, remember to wipe them down using a dry cloth after each playing session. It is better to replace your strings just as they begin to wear out.
