What Internet Service Should I Get
With the many different internet options that you have available to you that come at various different prices ranging in internet speed and download limits, let us take a look at the numerous broadband packages.
DSL (Digital Subscriber Line):
DSL is broadband technology which is able to transmit data over your local telephone line. It’s possible for you to use DSL on your current phone service. DSL speeds can be anywhere from as low as 128 Kbps to as high a 24 Mbps, though they are still slower than cable connections. With millions of DSL users in the country, DSL is second to cable internet users.
Naked DSL
Naked DSL is basically broadband internet technology which doesn’t use your phone line. AT&T is one of a few companies that offers this service, Verizon is another company that provides this service in specific areas of the country. Verizon have invested a lot of money in this country in the area of fibre optic services.
Cable Internet
Cable broadband internet is basically a service that your local cable television company will provide to you. Most of the packages offered by the provider will include TV, phone and internet making them more convenient and cheaper for the end user to access. Cable internet is more reliable and generally faster than your DSL line. Comcast is currently the latest provider of cable internet in America.
Satellite Internet
If you’re in need of high speed internet then satellite internet is basically your last option. Usually customers will purchase a satellite internet connection if they don’t have access to cable or DSL broadband services or if they live in a remote area. Satellite internet tends to be less reliable as it is venerable to the weather conditions.
