Buying a horse trailer from someone one can be tricky business especially if you have no idea what to look for. fortunately life is made easier when you do know what you are looking for. The last thing that you want is a trailer that lasts you only a couple of months after paying alot of money for it. Some the immediate basic things to look out for when buying a horse trailer, is the persons farm that you are puchasing it from, you will have to look out for the overall state of their premises, such as what their barn, fences and pastures look like. The chances are if there farm is in a bad way the trailer is not going to be much better.

Here are some things that you can look out for concerning the actual trailer

Checking out the trailers suspension is a good idea. A trailer will usually have spring hanger suspsension. You should be checking the suspension for any visible errosion. If they have erroded this can cause a major problem not only to the movement,but also to axle.

Checking for breaks, will be a important factor as to whether you buy the trailer or not. The breaking system is likely to be a 2 or 4 wheel elecrtic breaking system. Checking breaks may be abit more tricky especially if you are not a mechanic. It is you job to at the least find out if the breaks are actually working.

Checking on these things will make your buying experience a whole lot more worth your while. Be sure to consider the things here when buying a horse trailer.
