Hollywood, Florida might share its name with the famous Hollywood, California, but it is no way less illustrious than its well known cousin. Tucked away in the Southern tip of Florida, the city of Hollywood is on of the top ten largest cities in the state of Florida.

This city is spread over an area of about eighty square kilometers and is home to approximately one hundred and fifty thousand residents. This city, also known as the Diamond of the Gold Coast, has over ten kilometers of pristine Atlantic beaches. Various fresh water bodies cover about ten square kilometers of inland area.

The other day I am sitting in Starbucks, in Beverly Hills, on the Westside of LA and I get to talking to this guy, who had a bit of a funny, sarcastic attitude and eventually he admitted to me that he was not retired early and rich or a trust fund baby, like the others sitting there. He was a Hollywood Writer and he was on-strike. Interestingly enough we got to talking about writing on the Internet and I told him that I had written a couple of articles online.

The Hollywood writers are out in full force writing articles in the media and news using all possible sources to tell their side of the story. They want more money, well, I suppose that goes for about 95% of the people in our society, this is nothing new. Unfortunately, by them demanding more money and going on strike they are upsetting regular Americans, as the TV shows are going into re-runs and no one likes re-runs.
