Hobbies Introduction
The following comment was made regarding retirement planning. "Hobbies and civic activities should only be included if they relate to your job or if you have achieved some level of distinction in doing them."
We have huge energy stores inside of us, both mentally and physically, as well as our unique talents, gifts and capabilities. Channeling these gifts and talents into hobbies will give us rewards that will make retirement free time a major contributor to those truly "Golden Years".
A hobby for children
Many hobbies only achieve one of these two aims, being either entertaining or educational. Finding an activity that does both may seem difficult to achieve, but it needn't be. Building modelling kits is one hobby that is perfect. Kits, produced by manufacturers such as Airfix, are relatively cheap to purchase and can provide hours of fun.
Hobbies as a stress reliever
Simply put, hobbies give people the chance to play and with this the chance to reduce stress levels. In this article I will discuss some of the way hobbies can improve your life and reduce stress. There are a number of common hobbies that people do that can help to relieve stress.
A hobby is a break from reality. A hobby provides the person with a chance to focus on building a model airplane, for example, and put all the everyday worries like paying bills, beating the rush hour traffic or finishing a work project on schedule to the back of their mind.
CONCLUSION
There are dozens of other hobbies that retirees find are a great way to invest their well earned leisure time. Photography, golf, various table games, fishing, collecting, and crafts all remain popular among retirees. A strong combination of several different hobbies will mean a very busy retirement!
