Does High Speed Internet Access Affect Our Lives?

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear the term high speed internet connection? Is fast one thing that comes to mind? Do you wonder whether there is such thing as that which was described? Do you ask yourself what are your best options for accessing the internet at high speeds? Or do you think to yourself that you aren’t much bothered about it, because your time spent online is fairly limited?

Regardless of what comes to mind when the word high speed internet connection is brought up, the reality is that we are all affected by the internet and the speed in which its operates at. If you are someone who is regularly online, then you are probably already aware of how it affects your life. You are aware of when things aren’t moving as fast, or when a website takes longer than expected to load up or an email takes a while for you to access it. These are the more obvious things that you are aware of.

Then there are the people who believe that they aren’t affected by high speed internet connections. Let’s take some time to think long and hard about this. Have you been to the post office and had to wait in line for an excessively long time? What do you think they base their postage rates on? Granted, the amount of people working at the post office by contribute to waiting times, but regardless of that, those who are working have their efficiency affect by the speed in which the computer operates at.

Then we have your bank. You go to the drive up or inside to deposit some money. Sometimes it can take a long time and other times it may be relatively quick. There are also times when the bank teller might apologise to you because of the excessively long time the computer took to respond. Has someone ever said that to you? If so, then we can argue that the speed of the internet has affected your life.

The speed of the internet has an effect on our day to day lives, whether we like that fact or not.
