There are different places where you can find the various types of sun hats. These wide brimmed hats will provide you with some shade during sunny days. This is a look that is stylish and yet it can be worn any place. While these hats have a large following in due to the different uses there are some people who like wearing these hats because of the shade they provide.

Additionally these hats are more of a fashion statement than sporting goods. The best way for you to judge the quality of these hats is to see if the brim is wide enough. The material that should be used is one that will let you breathe.

Bowler hat

The bowler hat was created in 1850 for an English game warden, James Coke. It was intended as a riding hat that Mr. Coke could count on for hard hat protection as he rode his steed through his protectorate looking out for poachers. It soon became, as Fred Miller Robinson wrote in The Man in the Bowler Hat: His History and Iconography, " . . . an emblem through the then-incredible changes that industrialism was engendering-----but as an emblem of many things, a sign of the times.

Mens and womens Hats

In the past, men's hats were made a symbolic statement. For example, the tall stiff top hat worn by aristocrats was seen as a status symbol of wealth. In contrast, women's hats during this time were more similar to a bonnet rather than a hat. Unlike men's hats women's hats were brimless, and required pins to secure them on their heads.

Some hats that men wear are more functional, such as the hard hat, and some are used more for symbolic purposes. Some hats, such as the policeman's hat, are used to symbolize authority. The symbolic meaning of a policeman's hat is unmistakable, and it has been known to represent authority and commands respect. There are certain hats that serve as practical and fashionable purposes. Hats like cowboy hats and baseball hats can serve both functional and symbolic purposes. They can protect the wearer from the elements and are also worn in professions that require them in outdoor work. They are also worn by individuals for aesthetic reasons.

Special occasion hats

Special occasions sometimes require you to wear a special hat. Readily available hats that are mass produced sometimes are not appropriate. In these situations, the creation of custom-made hats is necessary. Depending on the type of hat you are looking for, custom hats have the potential to be very expensive.
