Introduction to hair removal
Unwanted hair can be a pain ther many parts of the body that a person may want to remove hair from.
Some hair removal procedures that can be used
hair removal by Shaving
Easy and inexpensive, but needs to be done every few days. It can be done in the bath or shower by using a foam or shower gel and a quality razor. (Note if your razor is clogged beyond repair, or rusting, it needs binning or you'll end up with cuts and infections.) Shaving should be done with smooth down-up movements (i.e. ankle-knee, breast-head). Moisturise legs afterwards.
Suitable for: Legs, underarms.
Hair removal by Waxing
You may want to go to the salon rather than do it at home, so you don't bottle it halfway through. Waxing can leave redness, so get it done a couple of days before that hot date. If you do wax at home, read the instructions carefully first.
Suitable for: Legs, bikini line, eyebrows (if done professionally).
hair removal with creams
Downside of creams is that they dont smell too good, and the smell stays on your body and towel and your bathroom. They may also burn if you put them in the wrong places, they're prone to patchiness, and they need to be used every three days or so. Normally you apply cream thickly and evenly over the area, wait around five minutes, check a small area to see if the hair comes off, and if not wait a while longer (but no more than 10 minutes) before removing it all with a damp flannel. Read the pack instructions to be certain, and do a test patch first in case of a reaction.
Suitable for: Legs, bikini line, underarms.
Hair removal by Sugaring
Apparently less painful than waxing, and you can wash and reuse the cotton strips. you should Test a small area on your skin for allergies. The sugaring mixture is warmed by being placed in hot water, when it is warm enough to spread, put it on in direction of your hair growth. Then cover this with some cotton strips and pull the strips in the opposite direction of hair growth. The results last a few weeks.
Suitable for: legs, bikini line, eyebrows (professionally).
Bleaching to hide hair
Not really a hair removal method, more an effective disguise, if you bleach it lasts 2 and 4 weeks. It involves lightening your hair on your face/ arms similar to how you would dye your hair black. This type of hair removal nomally doesnt cost much.
Suitable for: Arms, facial hair.
Electrolysis hair removal
This methods involves a small thin needle being inserted into the hair follicle and then an electrical charge is sent down to the base of the follicle, this makes the hair fall out. As hair is treated individually thismay takes a few trips to the salon before it can be fully completed, it may also leave some temporary redness. Results are (almost) permanent.
Suitable for: Facial hair.
Laser hair removal
This latest treatment kills hair follicles by laser which causes each hair to fall out. After a few treatments whole areas of the body will be left permanently hair-free, apparently. Works best on dark hair.
Suitable for: Most places including bikini line, back, arm
CONCLUSION
Once you have chosen a suitable hair removal method the next step is to check out the many resources that exist and, get quotes from doctors and salons.
