Funeral services need
Funeral services play a vital role in the grieving process following the loss of a loved one. These funeral services provide a way to come to terms with our loss. It is also an opportunity to receive support from, as well as to provide support to friends and family.

Funeral service costs
Today, it is not uncommon for traditional funeral services and burial costs to be well over $10,000+ in many areas of the United States, and these costs continue to rise fast! This is due in large part, to the rapid increase in cremation rates over the past few years. As a result, many families are finding it difficult to pay these expenses. This makes an already difficult time much harder for the family when preparing a funeral service.
Getting help for the funeral service
A funeral director is of best help to the relatives and friends of a deceased person, who assists in preparing the body, planning transport of the body to burial/cremation venue and in planning the ceremony. They must possess different positive traits like people management and administration skills, composure and willingness to work long, odd hours. He or she is also available on call 24 hours a day and 365 days a year.
Findind a funeral home
If you live in or near an area that has several funeral homes, I suggest you do some "comparison shopping" before you make a commitment. If your unfamiliar with the firms in your area, ask friends or other family members for recommendations. I advise calling three funeral homes (or at least two!) with questions about services desired and related costs. Beware, you may be shocked by the variation in prices and services offered.
CONCLUSION
The Federal Trade Commission has mandated a Funeral Rule that states that funeral homes must give customers a General Price List (GPL) at the beginning of any discussion of arrangements. You should be given a copy to keep. It is most prudent to discuss the GPL in private with your family and close friends. This way you can make an informed decision without the selling tactics of the funeral director.
