A Federal Criminal Law Attorney
People who are accused of committing a federal offence are likely to face far harsher punishment than those who have been accused of committing a state crime. A criminal lawyer who is both skilled and experienced in federal law will be able to best protect the rights of the individual who has been accused of committing a federal offence.
A federal offence may include an offence that has been committing on federal property or an offence that has been prohibited by federal law. Some examples of these types of crimes include tax evasion, bank robbery, and murder of a government official, terrorism, computer fraud and money laundering. An individual that commits crime in more than one state in the country is also considered a federal offence.
These types of crimes will be investigated by a federal officer, such as a Homeland Security Agent or a Federal Bureau Investigator instead of the police. A person who has been accused of committing a federal crime will be tried in a federal court. This is significantly different from state courts as it involves a rather complex system of laws. If a person is convicted of such a crime, people who have been convicted of federal offence will spend long years in prison, big fines and many other severe penalties.
Although the individual faces serve charges, the defendant will have the right to legal representation. For those individuals who have been accused of committing a federal offence, they are better off hiring a defence attorney as soon as they can.
A criminal lawyer is who very experienced and skilled, someone who has the license to practice in a federal court and is family with the whole federal legal system would be best placed to defence you.
