What exactly is Broadband?
So what is broadband? In order for you to fully comprehend what broadband internet exactly is you must first have some understanding of how it works and its main purpose? In the beginning, when the internet first arrived, people used dialup modems, to connect to the internet through an existing phone line.
Access to the internet through a dialup connection was extremely slow, and was very frustrating at times for those involved with it. It was around the mid 90s that internet usage really started to take off, and as we began to witness advancements in technology, broadband internet was developed, which has grown incredibility, in terms of popularity. After a few years after its release, it eventually replaced dialup as the conventional method of getting online.
So how can I describe broadband? To put it simply, I would say that broadband is a method of accessing the internet, in a more convenient and efficient way. You no longer have to use your phone line to get online, which was originally the case with a dialup connection. All you need is to sign up with the most convenient broadband internet service and you are good to do.
As I mentioned early, access to the internet through a dialup modem is very slow when compared to have internet connection types, which affects your overall surfing experience. But when you get online with a broadband connection, you will be able to, almost instantly notice the difference, as you surf the internet, watching streaming videos, downloading games and researching for a school project.
Broadband has come up age and is now the future of the internet. Today, we live in a world that is very fast paced. With the advent of the internet, information is now readily available to all, within a mouse click away.
