Introduction to face painting

Kid face painting sounds pretty okay for the first-time face painter, but before you start with the activity, there are a number of things you may want to consider. Children are different from adults in many ways. For one, they are more at risk of getting into accidents and secondly, they are more of a concern especially when it comes to their parents. Getting to know safety practices is a must especially if you are planning to go professional with your kid face painting activity.

Things to consider about face painting

Painting faces is fun, exciting and watching the kids admire their designs is very cute. However you may see the faces painted at Walt Disney or the work of someone else who has been doing it for years and think, I could never do that! And, "if my designs aren't so elaborate nobody will want them." Well, you're wrong, you don't have to go all out to do beautiful and kid friendly face painting.

Face painting supplies

You can keep these simple as well. Snazarro.com sells an 8 color rainbow kit that has all the basic colors you'll need. If you want to add some jazz they have an 8 color sparkle set as well. If you're only going to do cheek designs you won't need a sponge, but you will need several different sizes of brushes. It's a good idea to have several of the same size so you can paint for a little bit, then clean your brushes.

Using safe face paint

When using paints and other decorative things on the face, you want to make sure that it's all safe. You don't want to use regular acrylic paints like some do, because they can actually irritate a child's sensitive skin. Instead, go for a paint that is made specifically to go on the skin. This will keep the child a happy camper.

Face painting ideas

Begin brainstorming for themes. Are there any holidays or special occasions coming up? Think of Halloween, Thanksgiving Day, spring break, or birthdays. Here is a list of face painting ideas, Fairytale, Animals, Comic book characters, Food, Nature and many more!

CONCLUSION

Face painting can be a lot of fun, but it can also be a lot of hard work. And finding face painting ideas that haven’t already been done many times before is very difficult.
