How Much Does an Accounting Degree Cost?
In today’s society, you will find that accounting is in the top ten when it comes to in demand careers. This is primarily due to the restrictions and regulations that have been placed on businesses by the government. According to the statistics from Bureau of Labour, careers in this field are forever growing with prospects and growth looking good for the next decade. But how much does it cost for you to obtain a degree in accounting?
As is the case in all fields of work, the higher the degree level the most pay and responsibility is required on your part. For the senior entry level positions a bachelor’s degree is required. The salary that you start on will vary based on the company, position and its location. However, you will find that starting salary is typically around $38k to $51k.
For those who obtain a masters degree, they will qualify for senior positions, such as financial controller, internet auditor and senior accountant. These types of jobs have a starting salary in the range of $42k to $62k, but may quickly rise to $125k depending on the experience of the individual in question.
A DBA or PhD in accounting is terminal degrees available to those in this field of work. It’s primarily for those who are interested in conducting research or pursuing academia. The amount of money that an accounting professor will make will depend on the institution; however, in most cases the salary will be within the range of $125k to $137k. For those who are more interested in the career path, they will make around the same amount of money, if not slightly less.
