Broadband Is Internet at Its Best

Can you imagine the times when internet didn’t exist, whether physically or as a concept? As time progressed and the internet was eventually introduced to the general populace, people were amazed by what they were witnessing. But it took several years before its use became widespread. For its popularity to get to what it is today and for people to know exactly what it is, it took even longer. Dialup was the first connection type that people used to get online. But the costs were very high, so only a select few people were able to use it.

As years went by, broadband was invented and then introduced to the masses; this resulted in dialup becoming a lot cheaper. Most people were unable to afford broadband at that time. It was pretty expensive, which means only companies and large business organisations were able to utilise it. But thanks to the advancements in technology, broadband soon began to drop in price. Today, broadband has successfully established itself as the more affordable and common alternative to dialup access.

A broadband connection is several times faster than your fastest dialup line. This can be attributed to the bandwidth size. With a broadband connection, data is sent through a dedicated fibre optic cable. One of the main advantages of using a broadband connection, despite it being fast, is that when you are online, it does not engage your telephone line, which means you can surf the internet while chatting on your home phone.

The speed is several times faster than a dialup connection.

Broadband is most ideal for those who like to stream videos. Unlike with a dialup connection, where you are forced to wait several hours for the whole video to buffer, it literally takes seconds with a broadband line.
