A Little History on Broadband

The history of the internet and broadband are much the same, something that started off as an experience that evolved into a trillion dollar industry within a matter of three decades. The internet was introduced to the general populace before the advent of broadband, by a number of years, it started off as a US Defence Department project in the 1950s to allow computer systems at universities to be able to communicate with each other for national security reasons. As the nature of human becomes with have it, people within the university started to use it to in order to communicate with other people within their vicinity.

By the early 1980s, the internet was introduced to the general populace and was being accessed through a dialup modem, which preoccupied your phone line during the process. Because of the increasing popularity of the internet, it led many internet service providers to develop much faster download and upload rates, and in the year 2000, broadband was created. Internet service providers soon began to communicate with one another, which brought the price of the service down, making broadband the most popular connection type to access the internet with.

Broadband is several times faster than anything you can get on a dialup line, allowing you to do significantly more things while online, like download music and movies, process digital photos, play games online, and carry out business transactions. If we look at the milestones that the internet has gone through, then we can see the amount of progress broadband has been able to bring to the net.
