In Man on Fire Denzel Washington plays a washed-out special ops agent named John Creasy who takes on a simple bodyguard gig in Mexico City for the sake of staying employed. The simplicity of this new job is fitting for him because he is still highly skilled in the killing business but his chronic drinking hinders his abilities.

His assignment is to guard a little girl named Pita (Dakota Fanning). The most dominant theme in this movie is justice, in particular God's justice. Before he gets "on fire" he speaks briefly with a Catholic nun who chides him about his job, saying she wishes it didn't have to exist.

In the movie, Denzel Washington is plays as an ATF agent, and in his latest investigation, over 500 people have been murdered by a bomb. Sounds just like any other action movie, right? But Denzel's character, Doug Carlin, is invited to a top secret government operation.

It is a program, that displays anything that happened 4 days ago, at the exact moment. I don't want to ruin the plot for you, so thats all i'm going to reveal about the government operation. The main villain, played by James Caviezel, is the one who sets the bombs. Denzel must go back in time to stop him. Will he be successful, or will he fail. The ending is very unpredictable, and shocking.

Denzel Washignton was born on the 28th of December, 1954, in Mount Vernon, at the north end of the Bronx in New York City. His father - himself named Denzel after the Doctor Denzel who delivered him - was a Pentecostal minister with the Church of God in Christ. His mother, Lynne, was a beautician and former gospel singer, while there were also an older sister, Lorice, and younger brother David. Incredibly, Denzel Jr was unhappy with his looks from an early age, eventually getting caps of those unsightly front gap-teeth.
