Dancing gymnastics can be described as a marriage of art and sport. Today, rhythmic gymnastics is one of the most spectacular gymnastic disciplines in the Olympic Games and other sporting events. Dancing gymnastics, aside from being a competitive sport played by athletes, can also be an excellent exercise especially for young and growing children. There are dancing gymnastics schools where budding gymnasts get to experience the exciting though exacting sport of gymnastics.

Hip Hop Dancing

Hip hop dancing is an urban ethnic dance form that has gained popularity in recent days. It is more common than the break dance of modern days. Hip hop dancing marked its beginning as part of the hip hop culture in the early 1900's, when the youth in and around Bronx, New York started dancing on the streets.

Hip hop dancing is an ideal way to express one's creativeness. It features self impressions and the dances come from the soul. The dancing represents body movements that go with the beat and rhythm of hip hop music.

Belly dancing

Contrary to popular belief, belly dancing doesn't involve only the belly in its movement. The entire body moves in the dance and it has evolved from traditional forms to heart pumping work-outs. Its a form of exercise that any adult, regardless of age, gender, weight, agility and knowledge of dance steps, can participate in.

This is something that serves as an excellent alternative for people who don't normally like going to the gym. One thing is sure though, belly dancing can be highly addictive. Belly dancing is low impact (the risk of injury is minimal when the dance movements are done correctly). The most distinguishing feature of belly dancing is the isolated motions of the abdomen. These circular, rolling, angular and vibrating movements are all based on natural body movements and it is exactly that makes belly dancing such a safe form of exercise for people of any age.

Dancing is generally considered an art because there are specific steps or foot movements that need to be observed and followed when one is dancing to a certain type of music. Grace as well as skill is essential for a professional dancer in their performances.

Though not everyone is gifted with the elegance required in being a talented dancer, learning the basics in dancing is important since you never know when your terpsichorean competence is required. A number of people enjoy dancing as an outlet of releasing one's tensions after a hard day's work. There are individuals who go an extra mile in trying to learn a new dance step in order to be up-to-date with the latest dance crazes.
