Constellation study
Learning of logic, grammar and philosophy: The good constellations for studying grammar are the Rohini, Mrigasara, Punarvasu, Pushya, Hasta, Dhanistha and Revati. Mercury - the intellectual planet however needs to be strong. The auspicious constellations for the other subjects - logic and the philosophy are the Sravana, Moola, Hasta, Uttara and the Satabisha.
Constellation significance
They noted these constellations and so attached a particular significance to them. The main traditions used by modern astrologers are Western, Chinese and Indian versions. Indian and Western versions use an astrological chart or horoscope for an event based on the position of the sun, moon and planets at the moment of the event. Indian version uses the sidereal zodiac, linking the signs of the zodiac to their original constellations, while Western version uses the tropical zodiac.
Sun and Constellations
In short, our theology is not played out so much in books and literal earthly dramas, but rather in the heavens as the Sun makes it's passage through the signs of the Zodiac. As above, so below. Even the Bible says that what it says is based on the pattern seen in the heavens, meaning the constellations of the Zodiac.
While the Biblical priesthood may have written laws against the common folks looking to the stars and constellations for information, the Bible itself contains much what we would call astrological symbolism. Perhaps a case of the Priesthood withholding information through intimidation of the masses.
CONCLUSION
A constellation is a group of stars that are connected together to form a figure or picture. The term is also traditionally and less formally used to mean any group of stars visibly related to each other, if they are considered as a fixed configuration or pattern in a particular culture.
Some well-known constellations contain striking and familiar patterns of bright stars. Examples are Orion (containing a figure of a hunter), Leo (containing bright stars outlining the form of a lion), Scorpious (a scorpion), and Crux (a cross).
