Have you ever been stood at a bar waiting to order a drink when someone approaches you and throws a chat up line you r way? Do you turn your back on them, openly laugh in their face or secretly praise the fact they have the confidence to approach a complete stranger and put themselves out there to be shot down.

Let's face it, it tends to come down to one of two facts- are you completely plastered and willing to be chatted up for the sake of another drink, or are they drop dead gorgeous. But the question that begs to be asked is why if they are drop dead gorgeous would they need to use a cheesy chat up line?

Here's how the scam works: You will see ads in publications and commercials on late night television advertising 900 number telephone chat lines where you meet and talk to single women that are just dying to meet and date you. And some of these calls are conference calls with more than one woman.

Many of these services invent their own single women to talk you and try to keep you on the telephone line as long as possible. These women are actually hired for the purpose of pretending to be available and keep you on the phone to run up your telephone bill (you are charged by the minute when calling their 900 number).

Chat lines for ladies

When it comes to chatting up girls there really isn't that much magic involved. The biggest mistake most guys make is that they think they know what girls are thinking. Before they even start they have set themselves up for failure. They prejudge with notions like "she will not like me".

When you go online and do a search on how to chat up girls you really come across some interesting stuff. Some of it I have to admit is a little cheesy. Chat up lines that have been used to death. Don't get me wrong there is some good information out there - however some of the techniques are questionable even a little bit comical.

CONCLUSION

The rules of pick up lines are simple: keep them brief; keep them clean; and keep them friendly. Spending all night rehearsing at the bar will leave you sounding stilted, so what are you waiting for? If you've spotted a hot girl, slap on a smile, stride on over there and simply say hello.
