It is important to understand that it is hard for you to think rationally when you are angry. So, before you try and discuss it with the other party you should try and calm down, this can be done by taking deep breaths and visualising something that is positive. Anger is a natural emotion that we all experience, but it is best not to react when you are angry.

Often times when the person is try to resolve an argument, there is a tendency to want to always be right. You should remember that it is better to be happy and to be right. The main reason that you are approaching a conflict is to find a solution for both parties not just one. If you are arguing to be the winner then you are likely to feel worse after. The main purpose of your argument should be to resolve the situation the best you can for both parties, not just you.

You may have to agree to disagree

It is not always the case that you will resolve your conflict the way that you want to, in such a case it is up to you to reach a compromise. It is not your job to get the other party to see things the way that you want them to see them. Try to convert other person to your philosophy may be futile. The differences between you and them should be embraced, this may include different interests and activities too.

Taking these two points into consideration can help you to resolve a conflict more smoothly.
