It all began with a pilot episode on Cartoon Network and later developed into a highly successful cartoon series. The adventures of our little boy genius captured the imagination of children and adults all around the world.

Dexter, boy genius! The Dexter's Laboratory cartoon series, developed by Genndy Tartakovsky, presents us with the adventures of a technical wizard, a master of invention, the king of science and the supreme ruler of inventions – Dexter, boy genius! Dexter may look like a regular boy, but he is in fact a brilliant scientist. Dexter's laboratory is situated underneath the parental home, hidden from view.

Political Cartoons

Franklin's famous cartoon is an example of how political cartoons have, historically, been a way for opposition groups to voice their opinions. The cartoon medium works well as a way for a new idea to gain a foothold in the public consciousness because of the brief and simple message it conveys. Since many cartoons couch their dissenting ideas in humor or satire, the artist can get away with making a radical idea seem more socially acceptable and less dangerous to the powers that be.

Newspapers and Cartoons

Newspapers and magazines are the most popular media where the cartoons are shown. The modern cartoons are drawn as one drawing and are often supported by a caption written just beneath the cartoon or in a speech balloon. These cartoons are mostly called gag cartoons. Peter Arno, renowned cartoonist of The New Yorker, is considered to be the father of gag cartoons. Some famous gag cartoonists include- Charles Addams, Gary Larson, Charles Barsotti, Chon Day and Mel Calman.

CONCLUSION

Everybody knows the very popular cartoon shows of our times, Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse, Yogi Bear and The Flintstones, just to name a few, have become household names just about everywhere on this planet unless you've been living under a rock, but not all cartoons that were made became popular. Some were so unpopular that they only lasted a very few episodes or worse yet, were never released to the mass public.
