About Carbon

Carbon exhibits remarkable properties, some paradoxical. Its different forms or allotropes (see below) include the hardest naturally occurring substance (diamond) and also one of the softest substances (graphite) known. Moreover, it has a great affinity for bonding with other small atoms, including other carbon atoms, and is capable of forming multiple stable covalent bonds with such atoms.

Carbon footprints

Log Homes and Timber Frame Homes may have the lowest carbon footprint of any other type of construction. A carbon footprint is the measurement of carbon dioxide released as a result of using a particular product or other human activity. Carbon dioxide is the main greenhouse gas released into the atmosphere and major contributor to global warming.

More on carbon footprints

Almost all aspects of moving, be it packing your items or driving across country, can leave a carbon footprint or just have some type of environmental impact in general. Carbon footprint is measured in units of carbon dioxide, and calculates the impact that human activities have on the environment in terms of the amount of green house gases produced.

One of the first carbon footprints that moving creates is from the materials used for packing such as boxes, tape, bubble wrap, and foam peanuts. The production and lifecycle of such materials will devour precious resources such as fossil fuels and trees.

CONCLUSION

3.5 million drivers confess to owning 3 or more cars, this would send the average carbon footprint rocketing skywards. There are some benefits to be had by decreasing your carbon footprint, cheaper motor insurance is just one of them.

So what can you do to make your carbon footprint smaller; Why not consider switching your fuel to join those who already benefit from cheaper tax and insurance in the diesel owning portion of the population. Diesel engines are typically much more fuel efficient than their petrol counterparts.
