Cannonball run

It would be the Cannonball World Events who would be bringing such a grand auto activity to the continent. Cannonball World Events is a company which is based in London. It is run by Tim “Maverick” Porter, the managing director for the Cannonball Run World Events, and is also one of the automobile world’s popular icons for he is known as a car aficionado and a really grand driver. In fact, he has already gained great popularity throughout the European continent where he is known as a really infamous bad boy when it comes to driving.

The original Cannonball

The Gumball 3000 was founded in 1999 by Maximillion Cooper, an ex-Armani model, who was inspired by the "Cannonball Baker Sea-To-Shining-Sea Memorial Trophy Dash", an unofficial, almost outlawed, coast to coast road race from New York to Los Angeles that took place four times during the 1970s before being cancelled due to concerns over road safety from police.

Maximllion Cooper set out to revive the spirit of the original Cannonball races in the summer of 1999, combining long drives throughout the day with decadent nightly parties. The original rally featured fifty of Cooper's wealthiest friends, who drove to Italy in extravagant and customised cars, before arriving in London and crossing the finish line.

A Cannonball contest for kids

Try a silly diving or cannonball contest. (Cannonball contests are particularly fun if you can get the adults to play along. Kids love to see adults acting silly, and cannonball or belly flop contests are sure to make a big splash.) Buy some water-guns or soft foam water balls and let the battle begin. Provide water- or tropical-themed snacks like sliced fruit, Goldfish Crackers and boxed fruit drinks.

CONCLUSION

If the Lisbon-Dakar is luxury travel, the Cannonball Run is definitely backpacking. Essentially, it’s a 2,400 mile, 4 day event for pre 1991 vehicles. The cost is £1,350 based on two people, and includes ferry transfers, accommodation at the end of each race day (and champagne!), personal sign writing on entrance vehicles, and the black-tie party on the final evening.
