Forever candles are long lasting miniature candles that make great decorative pieces. Although they might not last forever as the name implies they could last pretty close. These candles have 2 major parts:

a. The miniature candle usually a tea light or votive
b. The part that is usually made of wax as that of a traditional candle

What makes the candle seemingly last forever is the part that is lit. The only part you consume is the votive or the tea light which when fully consumed can just be discarded and replaced. The main decorative candle remains intact making it last a relatively long time.

Candles make good decorative pieces because of a lot of reasons. Candles for one thing are relatively inexpensive when compared to other decorative accents. A person can buy a small candle for less than a dollar which is dirt cheap compared to figurines and other table top pieces. Buying candles instead of other decorations can stretch ones budget allowing him or her to cover more spaces without over spending.

Candles also have many other functions aside from being decorative. Aside from the obvious functionality of having an emergency light source in case of power outages, candles can also be used in aromatherapy and other practical things.

Aromatherapy

Candles nowadays can come in many scents which diffuse into the air when lit. One can have his or her own aromatherapy session just by lighting a few candles and lying in bed, cuddling up in a sofa or even while soaking in a bath.

Room deodorizer

Instead of buying commercial deodorizers and air fresheners that could be very expensive, lighting a candle can easily burn out any unpleasant odor. You can place a couple of candles in the bathroom so whenever someone uses the water closet he or she can light up the candle for a few minutes just to make sure no unpleasant smell lingers.

Insect repellant

If you are planning to spend some time outdoors or you want to put that air conditioner to rest and open a window instead it would be a pretty good idea to light a candle. Candles attract insects like mosquitoes and flies to its flame, this of course kills the insects making the room just a bit more insect free.

Mood lighting

Candles are great items for setting up intimate moods. Since candles emanate a dim light it gives areas a feeling of intimacy and romance, this is why candle lit dinners are very popular for couples. It can also help people with sleeping problems since the dim light and frequent flickers has been proven to be relaxing.

Forever candles are very versatile and inexpensive items you can use to decorate your house or work place. Aside from its aesthetic value it even adds certain practical functionalities that are great bonuses on top of this function. A word of caution though candles require the use of fire and so it is important for anyone who wants to use candles to follow fire safety precautions just to be on the safe side.
