If it is your new years resolution to lose weight, you should only change that to your life's ambition instead. This way you have a more achievable goal, oftentimes people have in years resolution which only last a couple of weeks. A more reasonable target to set yourself is a general one. Many people try to lose weight give up very quickly, this is because they are unable to find a program which complements their lifestyle, or purely because they lack the motivation to see the back program through.

Always consider your food consumption
When preparing a meal, you should also consider how much you will be eating. The more you eat the more likely you are to put on weight. You should have a medium-sized meal and they should be consistent throughout the day, with all the three square meals that you eat. Eating the same amount each time consistently will help you to keep a balanced metabolism which is great for burning fat and losing weight.
Eat things with less fat and less sugar
When dieting it is important to watch how much fat you eat. Eating too much fat can be a big reason why you put on a lot of weight. You should consider though, that there are healthy fats and unhealthy fats. Generally saturated fats are unhealthy and unsaturated fats are healthy. It is also up to you to stay away from foods which contain too much sugar in them.
