When looking for a domain name, which is cheap, you have to ensure that you consider all the options. Basically, when you buy something you should expect the service that you pay for, so the cheaper the domain, doesn't necessarily mean the service will be better.

When you're buying a domain, you have to look out for the hosting, this is important because you cannot have a website if you can't host your domain name somewhere.

Generally, people who are pushing domain names want an e-mail at least. With some domain registration companies, they will allow you to register a domain name with them, but only allow you to use a different host for a limited period of time. This may restrict you, because in order to host your website with a domain name, you need a domain which you can host where ever you want.

For instance, if you are buying a domain name with one company, and you decide to get your hosting with totally different company, then you will want to have a domain that can be pointed at the hosting you have with the other company. For the most part, when a domain registration company is selling domains extremely cheap, the likelihood is that you can only use them on a specific host.
